Before filling out any shopping form, be sure the web address on the page begins with https: and that the lock icon appears on the bottom of your internet browser. These are two indicators that your information will not be intercepted by a third party during your transaction.

Also, be sure to read the website's privacy policy to determine how they will use your personal information. Ideally, they state that they will not sell or share your information to third parties.
